I would like to recommend this Japanese curry rice restaurant, it called Tong An 通庵 熟成咖哩 , actually there are three branches in Taipei, the original one is located near Xinyi Anhe station. yet I went to Zhongshan branch which located near Shuanglian station.
It’s just a small restaurant with 11 available seats, so sometime you have to line up for a while but no need to be worry cause there is dinning time limit for 40 minutes.
At the store front, there is a space for line up both dine in or take away, if you would like to take away, you don’t need to queue up.
Menu
There are three main dishes, Chicken curry rice set (210 NTD), Beef curry rice set (250 NTD) and Chicken+Beef curry rice set (230 NTD), all set includes Miso soup, soft boiled eggs and side dish. If you dine in you can refill rice once.
I ordered Chicken+Beef curry rice, Beef curry rice and fried dumpling (40 NTD). The curry sauce is really rich and smell so good, taste like that one I used to eat in Japan, literally authentic, you can feel the beef which has been stewed for a long time and it’s very tender.
Moreover, this fried dumpling served in two pieces, it is crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, not too salty, really delicious, I recommend.
Besides, they provide sanitary napkin in toilet and also provide free mint candy (in front of cashier) you can try it.

There are three branches in Taipei, you can copy this “通庵 熟成咖哩” and search in Google Map, besides there is another Somen restaurant 通庵 烏龍麵うどん 素麵そうめん (under the same brand name) located near Zhongxiao Fuxing Station.
