世界豆漿大王 Delicious Breakfast in Taipei, Stir-fried Turnip Cake with Eggs is a Must-Try

Today, I would like to recommend a Chinese breakfast restaurant called “世界豆漿大王”. This restaurant is similar to the famous Yonghe Soy Milk shop in Ximen, but it offers a wider variety of food options. Located in the Shuanglian area near Zhongshan, it has been serving the local community for many years and has gained popularity among Japanese and Korean tourists. Whenever I visit this restaurant, I notice that approximately 80% of the customers are Japanese, while the remaining 20% are Taiwanese. Due to its popularity, the restaurant is often crowded, so be prepared to wait in line.

The owner of the restaurant is adorable and friendly, and they can speak Japanese fluently. This restaurant also provides English menu

Menu

Stir-Fried turnip cake with Egg (蘿蔔糕炒蔥蛋) 45 NTD

This is the restaurant’s signature dish and a must-try. It’s unique to see turnip cake stir-fried with eggs, the dish comes in hot and smells good, topped with a savory sauce. Personally, I highly recommend this menu item as it is incredibly delicious.

Xiao Long Bao (小籠湯包) 100 NTD

Another famous dish at the restaurant, many people order it, I find it to be delicious but not that surprised, It may not surpass the quality of Xiao Long Bao from Din Tai Fung, but overall, it’s still worth a try.

Fan Tuan Stuffed with Bacon and Egg (飯糰培根蛋) 60 NTD

Fan Tuan is a popular Taiwanese food, and this restaurant serves the most delicious version I’ve ever tasted. The rice used in the Fan Tuan smell really good. I ordered the bacon and egg filling, which blends perfectly with the other ingredients like Chinese radish and Fried bread stick . I recommend trying this dish, but keep in mind that the portion is quite large, so it’s better to order one and share if you want to try other dish.

Steamed Buns, Mantou (肉包&饅頭) 25 NTD & 15 NTD

The steamed buns and mantou, at this restaurant are simple yet delicious. Personally, I’m not a fan of mantou, but I recommend trying the brown sugar mantou, known as “黑糖饅頭” in Chinese, as it has a delightful smell

Sao Bing (燒餅) priced at 35-60 NTD, Sao Bing is another menu that I particularly enjoy. It comes with various fillings, and my personal favorite is the corn filling. The pan-fried smell adds to the overall appeal of this dish, making it highly recommended.

Salted Soy Milk (鹹豆漿) 30 NTD

This was my first time trying salted soy milk, and although it tasted good, I found it unusual as I’m accustomed to sweet soy milk. However, for those who enjoy salty soy milk, this is the place to try it. A lot of people in the restaurant orders this item as well.
